Auckland Helipad

The Auckland Hospital helipad serves as a crucial lifeline, enabling rapid access to life-saving medical care for patients across the region. It operates 24/7, supporting Auckland’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter service, which responds to emergencies and performs aeromedical and search and rescue missions. Ensuring the helipad remains fully operational, especially during essential maintenance, is no small feat.

As the helipad had to stay operational, maintaining a fully functioning helipad while undertaking resurface work required precise planning, coordination and communication. Flowcrete was brought in to apply the Deckshield ED Rapide system that proved to be the ideal solution due to its rapid-curing MMA properties which allowed the work to be completed in phases, ensuring that sections of the helipad could remain in operation at all times.
