Flowcrete Flowfresh Flooring System for Hilton Foods

Hilton Food Group is founded in Huntingdon, the UK dating back to the 1994.

In New Zealand, Hilton Foods has a long-term supply agreement with Countdown NZ. With the desire to progressively extend the range of products supplied to its existing and newly acquired clients in New Zealand, the company is expanding its business by building a sophisticated meat processing facility at Wiri, Auckland. Most of the meat production is done automatically by robotic activity in a process line. This is an important investment to maintain the first-class service levels and continually increase production efficiency to the local market in New Zealand.

To achieve this, Flowcrete supplied over 4000 m² of its high-performance commercial hygienic flooring system. The building has diverse areas a ground floor, first floor, and mezzanine level with different requirements of temperature-controlled from a freezer at -25°C, to the production area at 7°C to the storage area at 1°C.

One of the key points emphasized by Hilton Foods for the election of the floor included proof of long period of use, can stand daily wash down at 65°C, and superior chemical resistance. Flowfresh SRQ was installed across the facility.

The seamless Flowcrete Flowfresh polyurethane system HACCP Internationally certified provides antimicrobial protection, superior chemical, slip, and abrasion resistance to the floor. Dark Grey and Light Blue colours quartz have been chosen to be applied and the system was extended to more than 1000 linear meters of coving around the edges of the facility to ensure no dirt or contaminants would get trapped/filtered between the joint points of the floor and the walls.

The floor protection was completed and installed by Sealcrete NZ Ltd, a Flowcrete NZ recommended experience applicator. Hilton Foods was impressed by the good finishes of the floor and is ready to supply Countdown Supermarkets with packaged and value-added meat products.
